Houston Outlaws & Harris Country – Houston Sports Authority launch #GamingTogether
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Houston’s only professional esports team, the Outlaws, in conjunction with the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority have launched the #GamingTogether initiative to support Extra Life.
The Houston Outlaws, a professional Overwatch Team, are the premier gaming organization in Houston. While society remains mostly shut down during the coronavirus pandemic, #GamingTogether provides families with a way to connect and give back.
The city-wide video-based gaming public service effort, designed to bring Houstonians together, will officially launch on April 9th and will feature some of Houston’s most prominent names in esports gaming, arts, sports, media, and music. Proceeds will benefit Extra Life, specifically Houston’s Texas Children’s Hospital.
Here’s how it works:
- Gather your household and connect with your friends on a video call
- Pick a game: video game, card game or traditional board game
- Record your group in action (up to :30 seconds max) and upload your video to Outlaws.gg/GamingTogether
- After you submit your video, you will receive a thank you email

Outlaws Chief Operating Officer Lori Burgess opened up about the campaign. “The Houston Outlaws are thrilled to be in partnership with the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority to launch this city-wide #GamingTogether campaign. Through our joint efforts, we intend to celebrate a renewed sense of family and community during this challenging time by bringing Houstonians of all ages together to play games at home in the spirit of competition while supporting CMN Hospitals, which includes our local Texas Children’s Hospital.”
The Houston Outlaws aim to raise $10,000 #ForTheKids. You can support their efforts here: extra-life.org/GamingTogether
